Evidence based Medicine

My biggest fear, especially here in the only Province that actually exports and distributes corruption. Is that my experience so far in the WCB Alberta system, and within the AHS system, is that they are in no way applying evidence based medicine. Here is a link to a fellow who suffered the same injury that I did, he outcome was quite different from mine. He got lucky. Obviously on light duty. He seen the writing on the wall, that he would receive no proper medical investigation, and he got out. The pain I endure every day is mind blowing. And that is not even talking about my neck pain. I am so Leery of all government. I truly hope that the pain clinic can help me, in my quest for true evidence based medicine. I believe my condition is called Mylelopathic. It certainly would explain the wide range of bad side effects I have been suffering the last couple of years since some brainiac decided to give me deep back massages. For some time now, I am baffled as to how to go forward with my claim (I feel ridiculous even saying that because there is nothing legitimate about the Alberta WCB). To dream of any kind of resolution is distant. I mean they will not even respond to my doctor. To me, that was their final act of stupidity. As a organization they deserve no formal recognition in any field of rehabilitative medicine. They try to maintain a very thin veil of legitimacy by producing the odd happy seriously injured individual so as to seem be living up to their mandate. I wonder if Kenworth is aware that people who are seriously injured on their site will be subjected to such human degradation and abuse? What are they paying money into this fund for? Apparently for WCB employee luxury retirement in BC.

Patrick Clayton Defense Fund

I can sympathize with Patrick Clayton. I know what it is to be abused by these shill bastards. When you talk about Drug Addicts, let us not forget the Heroin addicts, crack addicts, meth freaks and drunks who work for WCB Alberta. It is a matter of public record that this gang of drunks and druggies have stolen MILLIONS OF DOLLARS from hard working Albertan s. They don't even have to go to jail, why? You got it. When Patrick Clayton went up against these dirt bags, he was unaware that he was going up against a very sophisticated, highly refined and honed legal machine. I have always said right from the start of my dealings with this gang of fools, "This is an American Model". Canadians are too dumb to pull off a Insurance Scheme of this magnitude. The very last people on earth who have any latitude whatsoever for mudslinging in this affair, is any shill WCB employees, anywhere in Canada. Is your neighbor suddenly moving, now you know why. Boy, this government sure hang with some highfalutin classy types. I wonder what other things Jethro and company have been doing. I am going to start going to the leg regular to see exactly why our elected officials are getting paid and I am not. Remember what I said about a puppet regime? Bunch of Pinnochio's. The real hostages in this entire mess, are the seriously injured workers who were cheated out of their future, by a felonious sham operation known as the WCB Alberta
. These people are the true victims, and have been robbed of medications, medical care in all forms, retraining, and the ability to feed and clothe their families. These people have had their future stolen from them, not just from having to live their lives with disabilities left untreated, which can cause a whole litany of complications as a result. But from not having proper retraining, for occupations that will NOT result in further damage to their already broken bodies. Hostages because of the malicious attack unleashed on them by WCB Alberta, resulting in bankrupt families, families torn to pieces with the survivors left broke, depressed and stigmatized by our government. So as a result these victims are left to their own devices to fend off depression and suicidal tendencies. To be shut out of the opportunities we used to enjoy in society as fully functional, happy contributing members of society is a hell in itself. To be denied proper medical care, medications and medical treatment that could help ease some of our physical, mental suffering is heartbreaking to these victims. The claims managers at the WCB Alberta play mind games with us, torment us, and mock us. They know exactly how critical our medical treatments are to us. They use this to mentally torture us, they know exactly what the effect of denying us medical treatment will do to seriously injured workers. They do this to enrage us, resulting in seriously injured workers being banned from their premises. These people are trained in these tactics. As a result we are marginalized, labeled as crazy, stigmatized as "one of those crazy malinger injured workers". Some of these workers end up homeless as I did. A social worker and my friends advice helped pull me back from the precipice. So you are left completely bankrupt financially, mentally exhausted, and medically untreated injured worker staggering around wondering, "What the Hell went wrong?" To advocate such heinous deliberate willful malicious acts of social terrorism on your society will result in a society that is socially bankrupt. As a result we end up feeling trapped, abused, mentally tortured and not knowing whether or not our government will unleash even harsher penalties on us. We live in fear every day of the government cutting off whatever tiny little stipends that we receive. This government governs by "FEAR". I never used to be afraid of my government. But I am now. For what? Why? Because I got hurt at work? Good men and women are dying in Afghanistan, to protect democracy. You cannot hold up this organization (WCB) as a shining example of democracy, and how democracy treats its own citizens. If the Cowboys in charge will not reign in these rogue cows, then you know what? It is time for a showdown at the OK Corral. Phone your government representative, let them know you don't approve of torturing injured workers. Let Alberta WCB know when you talk to them that you are not happy. Keep up the pressure. Where is my Bed Colleen? I'm waiting in pain my sweet adorable claims manager. And guess what? I am not going to court to get it.

Injured Worker Initiated Alberta Stimulus Package

Well if there is one good thing to come out of this, imagine the millions the government is now going to have to spend on security across this province. Funny ED you and your crew claim that the Workers Compensation Board is a independent corporate entity, why is now necessary to beef up security at all your Government offices. Feeling a little insecure are we? That's it ED, further insulate yourself from the population. You know in the old days you guys used to just build a fort. This is really starting to feel like an Oligarchy.Well at least the money the government saved on my care is being spent well.
I am happy to announce on behalf of injured workers everywhere: A injured worker initiated "Stimulus Package". This is exactly what this province needs. Puts lots of people to work. As a bonus, they don't even need retraining. They are security guards. They need even less retraining than a injured Ironworker does. Good job ED. You guys just keep applying ToryNomics. Don't inject a stimulus package into the medical system by actually giving medical care to injured workers. No better yet, let the taxpayers of Alberta pay for my tests and ongoing care for the next 20 years. This is what happens when you let your drop-out relatives make medical decisions on behalf of the medical community. Not helping injured workers with their medical care is really just Another cleverly disguised HIDDEN TAX on hard working Albertans. Make CPP disability, the provinces welfare system and other governments across Canada pay for our care. It is the Alberta Way. Download responsibility on to a taxpayer funded agency. The total sum burden that has been downloaded onto taxpayers over decades by corporate employers is "Mammoth", incalculable really. You really have to give credit where credit is due. Government sponsored cleverly disguised taxes for decades is a gigantic accomplishment. C'mon Ed, give another speech about how low taxes are in "HELLberta". Phone the President of Canada (Stephen Harper), I'm sure they can add some of their own BS spin to this issue. Moo.

Alberta and the loss of hope

Judging by the Alberta governments response, nothing is going to change. As I expected they are beefing up security across the board at all government buildings. Is the WCB saving employers money yet? Will the guy running this gong show stand up and make the shill bastards that are abusing our hard working citizens accountable, Not! These people are relatives of the government, they are not going to give up their do nothing jobs. They would not be able to rob us blind then. How will they get free financing for their time share projects in B.C.? Will the whistle blowers come forward, not likely. The robber barons are too busy running. Watching all hope fade before your eyes is truly a horrible experience. Any statistics the WCB produces is complete Blarney. Persons from this government open their mouths and B.S. comes out. Moo. Armed man enters WCB Edmonton

The Alberta WCB is just plain bad Karma. And you know what they say about bad Karma, what goes around comes around. Fortunately no one was injured in the standoff. Do I now believe that the Hellberta Government is going to take action and actually make the WCB compensate seriously injured workers? The answer is NO, I do not! We have been lied to before by TORY Corp. Never happen this is a pro-business government and why would a conservative government put and end to what amounts to a hidden TAX on Albertans and Canadians. When the WCB does not pay, the taxpayers across Canada end up paying for the health care and living expenses of seriously injured workers from Alberta. Why are the taxpayers on the hook for my care, and some of it is very expensive. The Alberta WCB obviously has no clue as to what the word "fiduciary" means. More importantly, they do not care either. Who gave these guys an Insurance License anyways. My doctor and all the non WCB health care workers I have encountered in this entire experience have been professional. The only people I have encountered who are 100% non professional, and have not treated me with respect and dignity is the Workers Compensation Board staff, right from day 1. I have been asking for a bed for over 3 1/2 years now. My doctor has prescribed it. If you worked for the WCB what would be the very first item you would buy for a person who fell and broke his back? Good guess, a bed. I sleep on a futon mattress on the floor. I know my government and their pals all sleep on cushy pocket coils. Thanks ED, good job. Now cancel my rent subsidy. Oops, too late Capital Region Housing already did that, who would want to help a disabled person? How is this ending homelessness in Alberta? We now know that Conservative MLA's are impotent against the WCB Alberta, or are they? They are probably given a TORY script. Finally, will seriously injured workers across Canada every get to appear before the Standing Committee on Human Rights, not likely. The (JUST) committee will quickly sweep past us, remember this is a conservative government. Human rights for Canadians, what are you out of your mind. Alberta Health to close beds

As an Albertan who is completely immersed in the Alberta Health Care System, I am bewildered at such a decision. Every day in this province is like waking up to an episode of the Simpsons. Who is in charge of this Gong show? It is like a total recall of the Ralph Klein Health Care "DeKline". Why is our government aggressively attacking our grossly overtaxed health care system, that they themselves ("DeKline Care")created. Or pardon me, that should read "Mangled". Albertans who are in need of Acute care recently can attest to the need for an expanded Acute Care program, not the opposite. This governments massively gross failure to acknowledge the looming need for across the board infrastructure expansion before the "BOOM" began, has created all of the infrastructure crisis' that we are now experiencing. I really do believe that Albertans as a whole are completely fed up with this governments knee jerk "Reactive" decision making. The ineptness of this government is truly frightening. I got to experience Tory acute care first hand, a surgeon who could care less about my neck when I was first admitted, followed by being kicked to the curb by a physio department before I was ready, with absolutely no "home care" in place for me when I arrived. And none for a week. Yep, this Alberta alright. Made in Alberta (Made on the "CHEAP"). Where homelessness is not a lifestyle choice, it is a Alberta government administered program. What is Ed's new motto, Freedom to WAIT!! In a hospital hallway that is!!Spirit to leave. I think his new "spirit" is shelling your last pay cheque into a VLT. I find it interesting that the US Ambassador visits Alberta
and our government does not show him around. I have long wondered if abusing and denying critical medical care to disabled injured workers is a "New Conservative value", or are they Old Conservative values?
I do apologize for not updating my blog recently. I recently moved into a apartment with a roommate so I could have access to an elevator. Since my mobility continues to decline, this move is critical. I want to thank all who helped a partially disabled person with this move. It has taken up almost every spare moment of my time recently. It has taken me over a month from start to finish on this move. I just received word of my referral to the pain clinic at the U of A in two months. Which will amount to a total of 8 month wait for that appointment. I have spent the last couple of months working on completing all of the necessary requirements for AISH and CPP disability. Since those programs are of concrete and of real substance.

I can only rely in legitimate programs, programs with real legitimate appeal processes, and working acute decision resolution processes. Not a phoney baloney program such as Alberta WCB, which waves around a BS flag(WCB appeals), touting it as a working decision resolution process. I wallowed in that quagmire for years, with zero to show for it. Being seriously injured and relying on their BS system for my health care is like landing on a Syncrude Tailings Pond and being sucked to the bottom with the other wildlife. I really do believe that the new Alberta Health Super Board is going to be run on the same principles. It is consistent with this governments application of one "Hack Job" solution, right over top of one of their other "Hack Job" miracles. This governments "private" over "publicly" run solutions are an absolute disaster. If ToryCorp would work half as hard at properly staffing and funding our health care sytem, as they do on dismantling it, we would have a world class system that we all could be proud of.
On top of it all Capital Region Housing phoned to day to terminate my subsidy. I tried to explain my medical need for a building with a elevator. My doctor has provided a letter to this effect. The girl just kept repeating over and over, "those are the rules". Terrific. Just what I need, more obdurates in my life. The purpose of the program is to ensure that persons do not end up homeless. I am going downtown to try to get a meeting with Barb Sommerfield, her supervisor. Barb refuses to meet with me or produce a response to my appeal. Just another government hatchet man. It looks like I am heading for a complaint to the privacy commissioner. That brings it to 9 government corp/offices I am dealing with. More Corporation, less government is the Tory Credo. How's that working out for us all? I could write an entire book on the side effects of my spinal injury. Suffice it to say that my condition continues to deteriorate. My current medical condition is really starting to wear on my mental state. As old Rueben used to say, "Man what a life!"

The Dream of Freedom

It has been weeks since I have updated my blog. I had hoped that since I had delivered a copy of the prescription my doctor wrote for my orthopedic bed, eventually something would happen. I left a message on Colleen Bamford's answering machine, that her message says she never checks. I believe it, a do nothing getting paid to do guess what? Nothing. Ain't nepotism great? Well at least someone related to a big Alberta construction firm is picking up a paycheque for doing absolutely nothing, except picking up bonuses for abusing seriously injured workers. Good job Colleen.
It is interesting in her last letter she quotes the writer as being unable to find any evidence. Well if you sit around all day doing nothing, your investigation will as a matter of course, turn up no new findings. Neither Collen Bamford, nor her new Hack doctor (Mr. Charleton) even attempted to do a thoroughly complete competent investigation for evidence of prior neck complaints. Once again the findings of any of the WCB so called investigations read like some sort of sick perverted Reform School itinerary. They twist the facts until they are all distorted, and really at that point they reach the prominence of outright lies. I have given this felonious insurance corporation every possible opportunity to help me, but they still refuse me even the pleasantry of a good night's sleep. And then as a final insult they tell me that the only way I am allowed to communicate with them is via written communiques. Which is another falsehood in itself since they don't respond to those either. They seem to think that they (WCB Alberta) have a monopoly on feelings. This is John's story in B.C. on you tube.

I've postulated the idea that the WCB offices across Canada and the US are rotating their KOOK doctors to avoid conviction of conspiracy. I can now see why they had to form a WCB Club to share felonious ideas. If this were not true then a responsible organization would reign in their loose cannons, or bar them.

How humiliating for legitimate insurance companies who actually have to help injured persons, medically and financially. I have heard absolutely nothing since I produced the evidence to my doctor and he agrees that the evidence that I hurt my neck when I fell is undeniable. The WCB refuses to respond in any way. Just one more trick in their never ending bag of tricks to deny legitimately injured workers any kind of help. Due process, in my eyes seems like an ideal that is a million miles away. Something as unreachable as freedom was for the slaves of America. I now know what it is to be persecuted in your own country, a true injustice has been committed here. I have waited over 3 years for a chance to be heard in a true court of law. I now realize that I will never have my day in court, that is a true Canadian fantasy. It is now clear that any sort of Kangaroo IME that the WCB Alberta would put together, would just be another complete farce. Complete with KOOK IME doctors, it would be a complete embarassment to the Alberta Health Sciences community. I don't dream of that phoney WCB act anymore.
Freedom is an illusion. Persecution by one human being who is more powerful than our government, law courts, our entire medical community is not a quality of democracy our Prime Minister should be bragging about. He sneers at China regarding human rights, look in your own back yard Stephen.
It is difficult most days to produce any new blog content because of the physical problems my neck is causing. The same goes for dealing with any of the dozens of letters I need to write to officials, looking down at documents actually sets off the "popping" of my neck. I am no different than any other human being on this planet. I was born with precisely the same number of nerve endings as any other human, I feel pain and fatigue just as any other human would. And, I was born with exactly the same amount of feelings, neurological and physical feelings as any other person. As a result I have been kept quite busy finalizing all of the paperwork required for the completion of my CPP, and the necessary paperwork for AISH.
To this day I am absolutely stunned as to exactly why I am being forced to apply for AISH. My medical and physical needs are in no way the responsibility of the Government(Taxpayers) of Alberta. The government cleverly forgets to mention this little fact that it is the taxpayers of Alberta, and the rest of Canada that are on the hook for the care of these permanently disabled persons. Why? The Meredith principle should be renamed the Canadian Dream. I will phone do nothing's supervisor Trevor Dill today. It is probably her cousin.

More Bad News

I went to my doctors office today, my heart sank when he read my MRI, and said it is entirely possible that I will now require surgery on my neck. Just as I have said for a very long time (June 13, 2006) there is something wrong with my neck. MARCH 04, 2006 Scans. MARCH 09, 2006 Scans. I even wrote a letter to Kathy Morgan (LETTER ORIGINAL) back then because I was floored with my Spinal Surgeons' response, that he was, "only being paid to fix my back". That was back in 2006.
Corporate Alberta rears its ugly head. (This is all consistent with, Crappy Contracters=Crappy Disability Insurer). I cannot figure out why N.B. does not want to be assimilated by the Alberta Corporate model. You think they would welcome assimilation.
Not only did I complain to Dr. Jiang about my neck, but I also told Dr. Wilson of my neck difficulties, popping 10 times a day. Here is one of his physician reports before WCB Alberta shut him down by cutting me off permanently. No danger of WCB paying for anything they already ambushed me last week by telling my Doctor that I never complained in the hospital. I told my doctor, " I was on Morphine!"
I wonder how many specialists the Alberta Government and the WCB Alberta Sponsor to come here and work? Then they can pre-program them for their true objective, ToryCorp Health. ToryCorp Health will of course be a superior organization run by non other than, their very own "Superboard". Kinda has a private club sound to it, doesn't it? You know, there was this super race one time. ... They had the very same dilemma. Being superior you know.
In the final analysis, it has to be stated. You know what? There was nothing wrong with my neck before I fell. It has been giving me hell ever since and I want something done about it, before I end up like Superman did.

My doctor is understandably being misled by WCB Alberta. Legitimate health care professionals simply cannot understand how their very own medical alumni, are willfully maliciously applying medical skills.
Dr. Charleton did write a letter to my doctor. I did not discover this until months later. I requested to see the WCB doctors letter, from my doctor. Obviously doctor Charleton does not feel that maliciously attacking my medical condition would warrant sending me a copy of his findings. Doctor Charleton did act maliciously, by not acquiring further medical evidence. Non treatment is considered under Acts of threats and co-ercion within a licensed medical facility in the Province of Alberta. Millard Health Center is so used to using this technique that they think this is standard operating procedure for a medical facility. Why wouldn't they. Their model is a American HMO model. Proper investigation of my case would include, appropriate radiographs, examination by spinal surgeons or any chronic pain specialists, by actually opening up my medical records and reviewing all available documentation on my case. Here is a shocker, how about the WCB Alberta actually perform a proper spinal IME? A proper Independant Medical Examination of my Spine that follows all of the procedures laid out in the AMA Guide to Permanent Impairments. Unqualified medical workers employed by Alberta WCB producing felonious reports, and not even bothering to send me a copy of these bogus findings. STAKEHOLDERS, so Alberta WCB won't have to look it up. This is just one more felonious method that the WCB Alberta uses in its toolbox of creating felonious evidence against my case. "Corporate health care coming to a loved one near you." Colleen Bamford if you were terribly injured, is this how you would like to be treated? I wish my doctor would tell WCB that if it is important enough for their doctor to phone him with, than it is important enough to put in a letter. Superboard, can you Feel the rush?
I drove by the Charles Camsell Hospital and could not help but think... that its giant hulking ghost towers as a monolith to the Alberta Governments mismanagement of health care. They took a 100% completely working mechanism of the health care system and destroyed it, good job. And to this day they have never been able to approach that level of care that existed within its walls. The echoes of true pioneers will never fade.

Alberta Appeals Commission

My worst fears have been realized regarding the Alberta WCB appeals commission
This is not a true legal dispute mechanism, it is a ultra cushy BS appointment of even more friends of the government. This is nepotism gone bezerk. Seriously injured Ironworkers with broken backs cannot even qualify for a bed, while the trough feeders continue to swell in number. I can guarantee you that they sleep on pocket coils. These people do not even feign concern, or interest in your plight.
Democracy died in Alberta, a very long time ago. The real shame in all of this, is the fact that almost no one showed up for the funeral. Elected officials running this province ended a long long time ago.
These people are making a mockery of Canada. It makes me sad to know that so many will suffer from the abuses of this government sponsored Super bureaucracy run amuck. The trough has been allowed to balloon to an unimaginable bloated and deformed size. The "demockery bureaucracy" has written their own laws(policies) for so long they actually believe that they are Law makers. They only need Law makers as figurehead puppets.
I thought that a true legal entity with a balanced representation would be a good solid place to consult on how to battle a corrupt and fraudulent corporation.
I really am only beginning to grasp what a completely naive and stupid idea that was. After a brief visit, their non action was obvious. I now know how naive I really am. The Office of the Appeals Commission as far as I am concerned is one more part of their farce. This is just one more layer of stupidity. This is a super corrupt organization whose chief mandate is defrauding seriously injured workers of any form of compensation.
Obviously a made in Alberta solution that was farmed out to an American consultant.

How's that Health Super Board working out for the general population?
The response from the commission representative was typical in its merry-go-round approach to a solution. This entire situation never even needed to reach this point, if the dispute resolution process was an actual working mechanism. It's originators intentions have been grossly perverted by the demockery bureaucracy. In doing so they have created a squirrel cage that you simply cannot escape. The process is so mind numbingly drawn out that it is almost guaranteed to discourage even the most seasoned mangled human.
The Alberta WCB is just one big SHAM wow. Claims managers mindlessly grinding out more of their southern consultants well rehearsed BS.
This is not a problem that is unique to the the Alberta WCB, this is a giant "Corporate Culture" created and nurtured by our government. It is ridiculous in it's premise, and even more retarded in actual practice. Hello, did anyone notice how all this corporate BS backfired in the US? Albertans bought the Corporate Hallelujah stuff hook line and sinker.
More corporation, less government. Hmm, how's that working out for you?

Alberta WCB's intentions were clear from the beginning, cutting off a seriously injured Ironworker with a shattered vertebrae and steel bars in his back after only 6 months recovery. Why? Because I refused to be mocked, would not accept WCB Alberta's outright denial of my injuries, and refused to be threatened into signing legally binding documents. It is interesting given the fact that it is against the law in Alberta to threaten persons within the confines of a licensed medical facility in the Province of Alberta.
No need for these people to obey the Law, they will just create a new policy, and have their puppet Lawmakers rubber stamp it into law. Isn't corporatism a wonderful tool for non elected officials to completely strip Citizens of Canada of all of their individual rights and freedoms.

When a government can no longer hear the cries of it's citizens over the bitching and moaning of corporations, then they are no longer a government. This makes them a puppet regime. (See: America)

I filed an appeal, which the WCB never responded to and even though I have repeatedly brought this contentious item up, they refuse to discuss it. How can I have respect for a commission to which my appeal shall never arrive. Just one more BS arm of a very large BS organization. There is not one part of this government that impresses me. Any organization that maliciously pursues defrauding seriously injured workers out of benefits they are legally entitled to, only impresses ultra right wing corporate wing dings. Government BS does not impress me, any farmer will tell you BS ain't worth a hill of beans. Yet, this government doles out BS like it is a valuable commodity. The bureaucrats are doling out horse manure and telling us that it is caviar.
Someone has to put a stop to these lawless bastards, plain and simple.
Since their is no one in this government that is willing to help seriously injured workers. There is no other choice. It is them or us. Democracy is a community, not an idea. Hope may be our only salvation.

The Americans should use NAFTA to put a stop to unfair trading practices in Canada. The Alberta WCB does not help seriously injured workers and cheats all others out of proper compensation. I can't quite see the Meredith Principle from where I am standing. How could the WCB Alberta not have a giant surplus when they won't pay? Giving Alberta employers the lowest WCB rates in Canada. That is an unfair trading practice. I am writing a letter to Hillary Clinton.

Canada Day in Edmonton

How come it doesn't feel like Canada day? I am having a hard time trying to celebrate this day. I live in constant pain and I just can't get excited about today. I was debilitated most of the day. I see people on the television who emigrated here and they are excited. I find that hard to do, considering they did the same thing to my father years ago when he fell. It's not right. I went to see my MP, Peter Goldring's office, she didn't sound to encouraging. My life is not encouraging. I struggle every day to find the courage to continue. I am at my wits end to find someone who can help me get the medical treatment I so desperately need. I did not fall and break my leg. I fell flat on my back and suffered a Spinal Injury..
It is interesting to note that this examination of Evaluting a Spinal Injury of Permanent Clinical Impairment was written in Korea, and is the very best read I have had on the subject.
You see because it was the WCB Alberta's intent to get me to the Millard Health Center and perform an improper FCE, and sell it as a real Spinal IME. Of course their conclusion would have determined that there is nothing wrong with me. They are currently trying to sell a (ROM) FCE performed at REMED as a proper IME, which is ludicrous. The proof of their fraudulent intentions are clear in their Doc in a Box (Dr. Sonnenburg) Page 1, Page 2, Page 3, Page 4, findings that there is nothing wrong with me. Dr. Sonnenburg I am filing a complaint to the College. Perhaps one day we can meet this doctor who's words inflict so much pain.
And this is why it is so important for me to go to a Real multi-disciplinary clinic for assessment and treatment, and a true Spinal IME.
Anyways I hope tomorrow brings a brighter sunshine in my world.

Injured Alberta IronWorker Bad News

Well the news just keeps getting worse. I finally get my MRI approved and my lawyer writes me to tell me he does not believe that Legal Aid should fund me. The primary problem with this logic, is the fact that another lawyer already wrote a Legal Opinion on my file and concluded that I do have a valid case. My lawyer's point is moot. I wish that if he does not want my file, then by all means pass it on to a lawyer who does. Honestly, I have my plate full just trying to fight Alberta WCB without having to babysit my Lawyer and lead him around by the hand. Once again Alberta WCB has lied to my MLA's assistant and told her that my lawyer requested my file on May 1, when in fact that consent was faxed on April 3rd, 2009. My doctors request for a MRI was submitted on May 1st.
What really gets me down is:

1. Where is my due process?
2. When does the WCB stop lying and start helping?
3. The appeal process is supposed to be a dispute mechanism, and not a DESTRUCTION OF HOPE TOOL for Claims Managers
4. Where is my IME (Independent Medical Examination)? It is to be conducted at the end of the 2 year period. It is conducted at that time because it is accepted by the Medical Profession that any nerve damage that was done, would have been healed as much as it will ever heal by the end of this time frame. Their acronym is MMI (maximum medical improvement).
5. My Injury is listed as a PCI. Which means I am partially disabled and once my IME is Conducted, my ELP and NELP will have been established and can be disbursed.
6. This is Alberta Government sanctioned Fraud. And I am tired of it. How is any human expected to deal with these Obtuse Obdurates for another 20 years?
7. It is only 3 and a half years and I am ready to kill myself. I was never suicidal until I had to deal with the Felonious Government Insurance Scheme,known as the WCB Alberta.
8. Why have I not been allowed to go to the "Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minn?"
9. I was referred to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota last year by my Doctor, and WCB Alberta immediately responded by closing my file. The WCB Alberta mob of idiots has had their share of time to execute their retard fraud show.
10. Now it is my turn. They have proven their ineptitude time and time again. They do not collaborate my health care treatments in good faith. They have proven that they have absolutely no intention of helping a seriously injured worker.
11. I am in constant unending pain and I want some help. I want to go to the Mayo Clinic to which I was referred, and my doctor and Surgeon have already forwarded my medical records last year.
12. You would not treat a dog in this manner. So why does our government sanction the treatment of humans in this manner?
13. Why am I not allowed to have a Case Manager who is not discriminatory, and why has no higher official at WCB Alberta intervened and done a complete review of my case?

Once again, I would like to thank Tony Vandermeer's Office for all of their help. God bless Brenda Goebel. I was misled into believing that Tony Vandermeer's Office was actually doing ANY work on my file. I initially was very grateful and humbled to have a PC MLA actually pretend to do work on my file.
  I originally was duped into believing that Tony Vandermeer actually cared about a terrible injustice being perpetrated against a disabled person.
  Boy was I ever stupid enough to believe that ANY PC MLA could give a crap about hard working Albertans.

. If you do not work in this province you are looked down upon, because the general populace believes that you have some sort of character fault. Even if you are partially disabled. The Alberta Government Felonious Insurance Scheme will not help you in any way. That means medications, rehabilitation, medical attention of any kind, or retraining so that I will not have to

break my back, again

in order to bring home a paycheck. Nor will they finally live up to their fuduciary responsibility and pay for a real multidisciplinary assessment of my injuries, and of my current physical functional limitations so that a economic loss payment can be arrived at.
There really is no reason to postulate the legalities of my situation, since

WCB Alberta

Operates so far outside what is considered

lawful

that to dream about any sort of legal and fair resolution of my case is a completely moot point.
If a injured worker or any other outside observer where to want to study the WCB Alberta system, they would find a website that does not work, absolutely no online access to WCB Case Law here in this province. And as such, researchers would simply have to speculate on the actual documents that are supposedly posted on WCB Alberta 's website.
I find it very amusing that the Law Society of Alberta would allow such and entity to be created, one that cannot be successfully sued. And a legal arm of the government that swings a giant "Legal Axe" in its own defense yet does not have WCB Case Law posted on its website, or access to such a library.
When the legal might of a 1.3 billion dollar Government Agency is busy legally suffocating the life out of an individual, that person it not allowed access to case law in his or her own defense. I am no legal genius, but I am pretty damn sure that any use of a government sanctioned legal system, would have to incorporate access to such a library.
Since a billion dollar funded private legal system has been unleashed on a private citizen, that citizen should have access to their case law. Simply because, in no place in any part of the legal system is it absolutely mandatory to have a lawyer for representation. And as such clients, as a fundamental right should have access to the complete WCB Alberta case law library. This is not 1950, it should be posted online the same as other government agencies. If that is not possible then the government should pay for my legal defense. That way their buddies can get paid too. Lets spread the joy around some.
I hope that the Top Brass at the offices of WCB Alberta are proud of themselves. They have successfully managed to lie, cheat and steal my Pension from me. I will now receive no compensation for my Permanent Clinical Impairment, and any medical needs,or monthly subsistence, or any monies for retraining.
I did receive a phone call from the Royal Alex Hospital yesterday informing me that I will have a appointment for a MRI on my neck on Sunday the 12th day of July @ 11:00 am on a Sunday. I originally thought that my MLA's influence helped. However, I have since learned that the Taxpayers of Alberta were once again made to pay for my MRI Scan. I never did get my CT Scan of my C-Spine. Since Colleen Bamford already turned me down for my tests and my bed. We shall see. It would be nice to know what it is like to completely be able to turn my head again.

without a license!! My Case manager has completely thrown my referral to my orthopedic spinal surgeon out the window. She is saying there is nothing wrong with my back and is closing my file. My doctor, Dr. Adebayo has referred me back because of my severe pain. A orthopedic spinal "Surgeon" is the only one who can objectively look at my "MRI"'s and give an objective opinion on a spinal injury. Not some fictitious "Rent a Doc", from the Millard fraud clinic. Millard and WCB Alberta, bringing shame to the "Health Sciences of Alberta" for 40 forty years. These people continue to abuse seriously injured workers here in Alberta, despite Patrick Clayton's Plight. Maybe next time WCB will kill themselves laughing at the workers they abuse. What goes around does come around. Here it is almost Christmas and I still do not have a bed that my doctor prescribed. I have had my first visit at the Pain Clinic, hopefully that will lead to true evidence based medicine.

Drowning in a Sea of WCB Alberta B.S.

Today I am going to the office of Tony Vandermeer and thank his assistant for her efforts. Tony Vandermeer and other Alberta MLA's are oblivious to the fact that the Alberta WCB wields more power than the Alberta Government Caucus. I am completely respectful of all who try to help me, but in this case going to my Alberta MLA has actually "Hurt" my fight against Alberta WCB.
Collen Bamford sent me a letter denying me my CT and MRI scans of my C-Spine. My situation was hopeless before and now it is a complete disaster. I am going to have to go it alone against the Alberta WCB monster. At least prior to visiting my "Elected" officials office I was able to access a MRI scan, albeit took 8 weeks. That is still better than "NEVER". She knows not what a truly monstrous beast the WCB really is.
It is a joke. This government has no power, they are a puppet of the corporations. The facists have taken over. These are truly dark days for democracy, freedom and the idea that this is a good place to live.

MLA's Can Help Sometimes

Well it is Friday now and I have to go pick up my scrip over at the pharmacy. The last week has been interesting. I phoned my lawyer and he informed me that the WCB refuses to release my file. This, despite the fact that I sent him the authorization( 8 weeks ago), that he immediately faxed to Alberta WCB. I have been in contact with Brenda from my MLA's office and perhaps that will bear some fruit. It is difficult to get excited about any possible forward motion in my file with Alberta WCB. I have in the past and it only leads to disappointment.
I still have not heard anything on the CT Scan or the MRI that was ordered on my C-Spine 3 Weeks ago. I am going to drop by my doctors office as well and see if I can confirm their intranet connection with the Alberta WCB. I will pick up my Perc's while I am at it. My doctor desperately needs the CT and MRI scans in order to determine the extreme pain and limited range of motion in my neck.
My neck has been a ongoing problem since I fell. I wore a neck brace in the hospital for 6 days. For the first year or so my neck would pop about 10 times a day. That frequency of popping decreased slowly over the next year, until it was reduced to cracking and popping only a few times a day. Over the last winter, it was reduced in frequency to popping and cracking typically a couple of times a day. The only problem was that the pain level has been steadily going upwards during these events.
Then when I started to have my dental work done @ Dr. Pavlenko's Sana Dental office, I had to have multiple root canals, and crowns. During these sessions, the torsion of having my head propped back with my jaw mechanically held open for extended periods was enough to compound my neck problems. To such a degree that during the first sessions Dr. Pavlenko asked me if I knew there was a severe problem with my neck. I replied that I was, but it was yet to be fully assessed. Dr. Pavlenko and his assistant couldn't believe that the WCB Alberta are not providing medical or financial assistance to such an obviously disabled individual. He and his assistants would continually have to stop and give me a chance to recuperate when my neck would pop during these sessions. Dr. Pavlenko even wrote a letter to my Doctor about my neck abnormalities.
He is a medical Doctor and a professional. He just like every other medical professional I have met over the last 3 years and is genuinely committed to helping me. They are medical Professionals and as such do not want to see a patient suffer needlessly. Unlike the "Rent-a-doctors" whom are employed to produce bogus medical reports that not only are they unqualified to produce, but they are outright falsehoods produced for the profit of the WCB Alberta Millard Health Center. These reports are felonious in their intent.

Alberta WCB's approach of stonewalling doctors, medical imaging installations, my lawyer, my MLA's representative is not even a surprise to me. This felonious Insurance Scheme is run by people who operate "EXACTLY" like common criminals. As such the Alberta WCB believe that they are smarter than all of the aforementioned individuals. They actually believe that the whole lot of us are a pack of idiots. This precisely is the same ideological thinking of dominant criminal minds. The WCB has managed to influence the government controlling bodies through System Justification of their ideals, that there is nothing "Broken" at the Alberta WCB. This despite the fact that the last few WCB Alberta years are riddled with corruption, drug addiction and substance abuse, outright lying in court, thievery and embezzlement, as reported in the media. If today's modern highly trained and skilled tradespeople are required to pass random drug testing, than it stands to reason that all staff at Alberta WCB be required to do the same.
Considering they are in charge of billions of our dollars, and to disclose all investments, past and current, including past top bureaucrats in Alberta WCB.
These are not untruths, but public knowledge corroborated by the media. They are so used to lying that they just cover one lie with another.

I am never at awe anymore when the WCB Alberta strips away yet even more of my individual rights under the charter, or the phoney rights that are supposed to be adhered to by WCB Alberta.
From the very beginning, once I had arrived home from the Hospital, which I did not want to leave because of my extreme physical limitations. I knew that WCB Alberta would not have home care in place, and guess what?, they did not. I started receiving letters from WCB Alberta about the looming return to work date. I was stunned, they (http://www.wcb.ab.ca), had embarked on a program of Intimidation and coercion right from the beginning. Case Plan Letter Page 1, 2, 3, 4. The RAH is not responsible for the WCB shoddy home care operation. Had the Hospital set it up, it would have been in place before I arrived.
The threats and intimidation (coercion) did not end there, they had to get me to the Millard Health Center to fully invoke their sinister plan. The trap was set and all they needed was for me to walk in the door. They (WCB Alberta) had "profiled" me right from the beginning and had no plans whatsoever of planning my Rehabilitation. They were simply springing a trap for me to walk into. Knowing full well that I was under extreme physical and mental duress. They knew it would not take much to use duress as a tool to psychologically stomp all over me. And they executed it beautifully in a WCB Alberta kind of way.
The woman who did my FCE (functional capacity evaluation) then produced a document and herded me into a office with a camera in the ceiling. (Strange form of Rehab) She wrote I had "imagined my injuries to be greater than they actually were". I told her that the majority of my pain in my lumbar and lower area was radiating from the area of my original injury. She told me that I had signed off on that injury years ago (Untrue) and that I would have to sign a similar document now. I refused. She told me I had to and again I refused. She returned sometime later and said that I would not have to sign the document and I left. Dr. Sonnenburg himself wrote WCB Alberta that I have had 3 compensation related previous back injury claims.

It was when I went to meet with the director of return to work services, and that is when all the trouble started. You guessed it!, time to have more of my individual rights stripped away. Bruce Eidick produced a document, that said very explicitly that I had to show up every day @ 8 a.m. sharply or I would be cut off. That was not possible then and to this day is not possible. When I am up all night in pain that is not possible. Every doctor knows that a side effect of Chronic Pain is Chronic Fatigue. And at this rate I will never get my proper Rehabilitation.
It also stated that if I did not make it in, that I had to phone in at precisely 8 a.m. sharp or I would be permanently cut off of benefits. I informed him that this was not possible. He left and returned to tell me there was a phone call in the control room for me.
It was my wonderfully abrasive Claims Manager Kim Kroetsch, and she yelled at me if I did not sign that document that I would be cut off of benefits. God, how I love how the WCB Alberta so gleefully throws around threats and coercion as a Rehabilitation Tool.

Important Note

I think that it is important to note at this time that, during my time in the hospital originally Doctor Zhiang my Orthopedic Surgeon had considered sending me to the Glenrose Hospital for Rehabilitation. I really don't think he fully understood the underlying consequences of letting the "hackboys" at Millard have a go at me. And the fact that the WCB Alberta was already pre-disposed to a program of discrimination against myself. They cannot dispute this since this letter is living proof of their program.

I wonder if the Mayo Clinic Spinal Fusion Rehabilitation Tools and techniques, employ terror, threats and coercion in their day to day operations?

Obviously seriously injured workers might as well get used to crappy medical care right from the Start. That way they won't know any different and will believe that this is the way "Privately Administered Health Care In Alberta", is administered. Thats it WCB Alberta, set the bar low. From that moment to the present day, I have been subjected to extremely low level "Cheapco" care. At it's very worst was the day I got back surgery to have my hardware removed. I would commit suicide before I would let them do major back surgery on me, on an "outpatient" basis. I mean it. I wanted to kill myself for 2 days afterward. This is the best our system can deliver? You can't even keep a person in for 48 hours of observation and direct delivery of morphine through injection for serious operations.
Yep this is Cheap out Alberta Alright.

I have been asking for a bed since I got out of the hospital 3 years ago. No one ever came around as I was told to evaluate my bed (duh, I broke my back). What do you suppose is the very first thing you would buy for a serious back injury client? Duh!!, a bed! So it really came as no surprise that Colleen Bamford denied my request for a decent bed. I don't really think I have to go further on this subject, not even for the uneducated.

The WCB Alberta is so funny because they go on about their much prized "Appeal" process. It is all B.S. And even the Premier_of_Alberta will tell you, B.S. ain't worth a hill of beans. My very first appeal that I submitted on Sept. 10th, 2007 was fed into the paper shredder by WCB Alberta. It was never filed and I never did get my appeal heard by an appeal board or any higher panel. They have destroyed it and refuse to even acknowledge that they received it.
Thank you once again WCB Alberta for stripping away my rights to appeal. Why would I need those stupid damn rights, huh?
Then when I was cut off the second time by C Bamford, I immediately called the Office of the Appeals Advisor and spoke with a representative there. He retrieved my name + file number and informed me that I was an extremely smart man. Strange, we had only been speaking a couple of moments. And then he informed me that I was probably under investigation for "fraud".
I was absolutely floored, stunned and in disbelief that a rep from the Advisor's Office would speak in such a condescending tone. And that as the say, was that. That was my one and only exposure to this "phoney appeals advisor figurhead". So much for my right to appeal, Again.
My mother told me before she died, she was terribly ill for months in the RAH right after I was cut off of benefits the first time by Kim Kroetsch. Sieg Heil.

She told me, and I quote, " Never give up your rights, because you will never get them back." I only hope that the citizens of Alberta understand this as they stand by idly and watch their health care rights steadily eroded.

I can tell you from the standpoint of a person whose medical care is "Dictated" by a Private Insured Health Care Provider, that health delivered by a super board is totally crappy. Why? Duh, because they dole out care to whomever are their friends, not you and your friends. As such if you are not connected, guess what you get squat baby.

Man what a life!

I would have never guessed that I would be teetering on the verge of homelessness, simply because I fell off a steel rafter busting some Iron together and now I am disabled. The idea that WCB Alberta would have intelligent employees (Claims managers) working for them is a delusion. And further that any of these Claims Managers would have even the most rudimentary medical knowledge is absolutely absurd. If any of these humans exist at WCB Alberta , I certainly have not met any of them. At the very core of this issue is the Stalig 13 type atmosphere at WCB Alberta . If you so much as sneeze the word "OW" you will be terminated from all treatments, benefits and pensions you may have been entitled to at one time in a fictional Alberta. The very idea that a person with less medical knowledge than myself (Ironworker) is in charge of my benefits is absolutely asinine.
When a seriously injured worker who has suffered multiple back injuries, gets injured at physio and reports it, it is incumbent on the Claims manager to order tests. These tests would be to investigate the reported injury. Simply cutting off the claimant and not returning his phone calls, or written communiques is not collaboration on my case plan Colleen. And it is certainly not what Colleen Bamford claims is working with all stakeholders towards the same goal. There is, and never will be, any single stakeholder with a larger stake in this claim than Brent McGillis. Her plan is simple, Obey..Sieg Heil or your entire file will be terminated. What ever happened to the WCB Mantra of working with stakeholders? Her case management is called a dictatorship, and is not conducive to an effective recovery plan map. A recovery plan map that does not include the injured worker in any participatory capacity is not a plan that is achievable.
To be totally blunt, my Case managers has ever tried to work with me or consult me on any of their case plans, ever.

When a Ironworker falls and lands flat on his back, guess what?, there are going to be complications. Being that my injury was not 100 % properly diagnosed at the Royal Alexandra Hospital is not my fault. And it is not their (RAH) fault either. They live under the guidelines of Alberta Health. Their primary goal is to kick you out the door and free up a bed.
I was under the misguided delusion that once I had arrived at the Millard Health Facility, my complete injuries and side effects of these injuries would be assessed. I was under the deluded idea that the Millard Center was a true "Multiple Disciplinary Rehabilitation Facility".
It is a phoney baloney health center. (A real Licensed Hospital or Health Clinic in the Province of Alberta is not allowed to use threats or coercion.) Protection for Persons in Care Act of Alberta. I did not make this Law, the Alberta Government did.
Man was I stupid. The very first thing they did was introduce me to DR. RENCHKO. He blurted, "Lots of people have steel parts in their bodies". And I retorted; "Yah, but not in their friggin spine!! Good God! I don't appreciate having my injury mocked by Medical Professionals, who are my Medical Guardians. It was all I could do to climb onto the examination table, and lay down. This experience was rapidly taking on a bizarre DISTORTION that I simply had not seen coming. Actually being MOCKED by the very people delegated by LAW to help rehabilitate me. I was in complete and total bewilderment. Never before in my entire life had I felt so belittled, insulted, and degraded. I was already under extreme physical duress, now Millard was embarking on a program of applied Mental Duress. And they were acting with Malice. A doctor trivializing my injury while I struggle to get on and off of his examination table. There is trivial about a serious fall.
At this point I was feeling extremely vulnerable, lonely, insulted and helpless. Since I knew that if this was the first encounter this whole gong show (Millard Health Center) was going downhill at a frightening pace. This was the first time in my LIFE that I had actually met a Rent-a-Doc. I guess the bottom 10% of grads need jobs too, just like any other trade.
That was the first exposure to WCB ick that I had to endure. I felt violated and degraded.
The next encounter with there vocational people was uneventful, except for suggestions of helping me find another job. I already had a job that I was to mangled to return to. Their idea is for you to start flipping burgers or something, that doesn't cost them a dime. Good job WCB.
After that they decided that it would be a good idea for me to be subjected to their FCE. You climb a 6 foot ladder, walk on a board. Lift a crate a few times. During this evaluation, I told the woman who was giving me this evaluation about my other injuries. I even demonstrated that I was unable to stand straight up, because of my right knee that was blown in the fall. She off course retorted that there was nothing about that stuff on her report. She would not record any of those concerns, except to write in her report that, "I imagined my injuries to be greater that they actually were."
More flippant remarks from another unremarkable human being used to making no useful contributions to society. Then to cap it all off she herded me into a room with camera's and microphones to make me sign a document saying that I had already signed off on any previous injuries. I told her that I never signed off on my previous back injury and would not do so now. She left for a while, returned and told me that I would not have to sign that document.
The final day was the next day, when I met with Bruce Eidick. He is Millard's RTW director. He met me and described while we were walking down the hallway to another room with camera's and microphones that I would be subjected to an intense program 5 days a week, 5 hours a day of Intense physiotherapy. I told him, "No you're not". I still had steel Rods and Screws in my Spine. There was no way in Hell, then or now that I would let a bunch of Hillbilly hacks risk further injuring my already mangled back. I did not suffer a broken leg. I broke the housing for my Spinal Cord. I know that the WCB of Alberta does not give a sh*t about my back. This is a news flash for the dummies. I only have one back, and it is now horribly deformed and mangled. Maliciously applying even more mental duress really was not an appropriate form of action at this point in my recovery.
After he could not find one of his surveillance rooms to film me signing the WCB's malicious document. A document designed to maximize duress on a client to the point where it will force a client to the absolute breaking limit. These tactics are designed to mentally stress out a client. Thus achieving their goal of attacking you credibility. I told Bruce Eidick that I would show up every single day I could, and do whatever I could. I would treat every person in that facility with respect. But I would not sign a legally binding document with unachievable goals that were impossible for me to fulfill in my weakened and battered state, and now under severe duress. Those goals were impossible then, and they are impossible today.
Is mental and physical torture of a severely injured worker a new Conservative Value? Or is it an Old Conservative Value?
